You know you wanted it! Meet link stickers in IG stories, the newest Instagram feature you will want to make use of to direct fans to your website or song link. Everyone gets access to the link stickers – even those of us with less than 10,000 followers.

“We made this decision based on feedback we heard from the community about how impactful it would be for creators and businesses of all sizes to benefit from link sharing to grow in the same way larger accounts do,” was the statement from Instagram. 

Last month the Stories Link was introduced instead of the “swipe up” link but only for accounts with over 10,000 followers.

Instagram Stories link stickers were first introduced last month for accounts with 10K followers, replacing the “swipe up” link. Now they are made available to all and this is a great opportunity for smaller businesses and brands, especially artists to make good use of.

What Does It Do?

Transparency and more engagement opportunities – this is the best part. The Stories Link Stickers are just like any other regular stickers just with the addition of the link icon itself, letting the viewers know where they will be directed to.

Compared to the “swipe up” links, people can actually react and reply to stories with Link Stickers which is just great for artists who want to stay in touch with their audience.

How to Get the Feature?

  • “Head to the Instagram Stories sticker tray and select the link sticker.
  • Paste your link into the link field. 
  • Switch the text and color by tapping on the sticker.”
