MusicPromoToday loves to be the bearer of good news!

DistroKid has teamed up with Twitch to help music enthusiast users who wish to earn money from live streaming via the Twitch affiliate program. With the Twitch Affiliate Program, you can start making money, but first, those who want to join the program must meet the following criteria:

  1. Have 7 broadcasts
  2. Have broadcasted 500 minutes during the last 30 days
  3. Have 50 followers
  4. Have 3 viewers

After your channel becomes eligible, you will receive an invite through email.

N.B. These prerequisites might change over time.

Why So Much Coverage On This Collaboration?

The Twitch Affiliate Program provides you with the chance of making dollars from the comfort of your home. You can make money either through channel subscriptions, Bits, or Ad revenues.

  • Channel Subscription: A subscription fee that people pay to stream your Twitch channel
  • Bits: Another way of making money is through Bits. When viewers cheer a channel with Bits, the streamers take a portion of the revenue for themselves in return.
  • Ad revenue: The third way of generating revenue is to place video ads on your channel. Affiliates can decide the length of the ad.

Philip Kaplan, DistroKid’s founder, mentioned that the initiative was developed to appreciate the work that ambitious artists do. He also emphasized that the program is open to all Twitch streamers who meet the above qualifications.

The 45-year-old entrepreneur also added that “Live streaming on Twitch is a great way to connect with fans, express yourself creatively, and generate income. We’re excited to bring this opportunity to DistroKid members. We hope you love it.”

Background Story:
