Selling beats, loops, and samples to musicians has always been a massive part of the music industry. As the business grows, the demand for professionals capable of creating and producing such content, aka beats, loops and samples, increases accordingly. Now, back to the beats, loops, and samples. The ambitious industry player BandLab Technologies, a Singapore-based company that operates a social music platform called BandLab, has also found interest in producing such content. Five years ago, they dropped their first library of Loops on BandLab Mix Editor. Back then, it was extended to contain up to 10,000 Loops. In 2020 the platform already provided 20 million used Loops, and Mix Editor got 17 million Looper pack downloads.

The company made it their mission to make their royalty-free samples available to everyone creating music. This year, they finally announced the lunch of BandLab Sounds, giving the users unlimited access to an extensive library of professionally-made samples, whether for personal or commercial use.

BeatStars, one of the fastest-growing music communities and obviously BandLabs’ competitor, reached $70m of lifetime payouts in April 2020, then $85m in July. Meanwhile, Splice, a cloud-based music creation and collaboration platform, paid out $11m in royalties to sound creators only in the first nine months of 2020. To stay active as a major player, launching BandLab Sounds was crucial for BandLab, and they had to make it epic.

The company’s announcement claims, “Every sample is royalty-free, unlimited and completely free to use. There are no monthly subscription fees, no caps on downloads or restrictions on quality.” Now it’s up to musicians to make the best out of the free music creation resources and tools that BandLab Sounds provides.

The library is ever-growing, and there are always new samples available. All you need to do is create a free BandLab account and start your exciting journey in the world of free musical samples and Loop packs.
