Apple has released an update to the iMovie software for iPad and iPhone, which includes two new video projects: Magic Movie and Storyboards.

Magic Movie

Apple has introduced ‘Magic Movie’ for creating personalized films. It works similarly to Memories in that users may select films or photographs, then Magic Movie will detect and generate the video. “For those who want to create a video even faster, Magic Movie instantly creates a polished video from the clips and photos a user selects, automatically adding transitions, effects, and music to the edit”, Apple said. “To create a Magic Movie, a user simply selects an album, or any group of photos or images from their library, and Magic Movie instantly identifies the best parts of the footage and creates the project”.

Storyboards

In addition to Magic Movie, Apple has introduced Storyboards as well. Each storyboard will have a list of criteria that will be structured in a story-telling manner. There are also video ideas and tooltips supplied. “Storyboards helps content creators and moviemakers learn to edit and improve their video storytelling skills with pre-made templates for popular types of videos shared on social, with colleagues, or with classmates – videos like DIYs, cooking tutorials, product reviews, science experiments”, Apple said. “Storyboards makes it easy to get started with flexible shot lists and step-by-step guidance”.

Users will be able to reorganize, delete, and add pictures inside Storyboard, as well as integrate personal design choices such as filters, fonts, headers, and much more. The program adjusts the music to match the duration of the movie, and there is some control over volume, trimming, and separating parts.
